Upcoming Webinars:
September 19th at 12pm: Bridging from Systems
Engineering to Model Driven Development -
Collaboration through Architecture -
Sponsored by Pathfinder
In this webinar, Pathfinder Solutions shows
you how, by applying the IBM Rational Model
Driven Systems Development approach with the
SysML language with specific optimizations to
improve collaboration and software
architecture longevity, key architectural
techniques and work products can serve as an
effective bridge between systems engineering
and software development. By outlining a
rigorous and coherent set of steps that are
collaboration focused and based on proven
modeling disciplines, this webinar helps
transform your separate Systems Engineering
and Software Development groups into an
efficient and effective joint team.
October 3rd at 12pm: Secure, High Quality Code
with IBM Rational Application Developer & IBM
Rational ClearCase - Klocwork Source Code
Analysis Integrated with your Software
Lifecycle - Sponsored by Klocwork
The introduction of security and quality bugs
in your code can be prevented by enabling
developers to find bugs early in the software
lifecycle before they check-in new code. This
requires a source code analysis solution
tightly integrated with both Rational
Application Developer and Rational ClearCase.
In this presentation you will see a
demonstration of Klocwork's automated source
code analysis used directly within the
Rational Application Developer environment,
enabling the best defense against check-in of
potentially crippling coding errors.

A Joint Global Rational
Community and Tivoli User Community:
Increasing Agility Across the IT Service
Lifecycle
Webcast date: Thursday, September 20,
2007
Webcast time: 10:00 EDT
Description: A service-centric
approach requires coordination across the
full IT service lifecycle. Organizations
need to integrate around the IT service
lifecycle to help drive efficiency, agility,
and growth for customers. Until recently,
you rarely saw development connected with
operations . . . nor did you see either side
connected with the "business side of IT" - IT
staffing, planning, governance. A service
centric approach, exemplified by the recent
version 3 release of the Information
Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), is
one that connects all 3 of these
organizations together and allows you to
manage services from initial thought
conception to development, to deployment into
operations and eventually into the retirement
of that service. This webcast will cover the
products from Rational and Tivoli that
demonstrate this agility across the IT
service lifecycle.
Speakers: Bernie Coyne, IBM Rational,
Perry Swenson, IBM Tivoli, and Geoffrey
Bessin, IBM Rational
Speakers Bios:
Bernie Coyne has worked in the software
development field for 25+ years. He has held
a variety of roles including chief technology
officer, product development manager, systems
analyst and programmer. He has worked for IT
consulting firms, software product companies
and has experience in both the private and
public sectors. He has a wealth of hands-on
experience in practical IT service lifecycle
situations. Currently he works in Rational
Marketing on the Governance & Risk Management
Program.
Perry Swenson is the worldwide Program
Manager for the IBM Service Management
Program. With over 28 years of information
technology solution experience, Perry has a
strong depth of software, services and
product experience. Since joining Tivoli in
2000 he has focused on service management
solutions and the benefits of integrating
development and operations.
Geoffrey Bessin, a member of the IBM Rational
Strategy and Planning team, has held field
enablement, product management, and
go-to-market positions within Rational for 10
years. He is currently focused on the
evolution of IBM Rational's strategy from
software and service development to software
and service delivery and governance - a more
holistic strategy that incorporates business,
development, and IT operational concerns.
Lean-based Metrics for
Agile CM Environments
SCM experts Brad Appleton, Robert Cowham and
Steve Berczuk discuss capturing and using the
right metrics to help you optimize your
software configuration management processes.
IBM Software support
announces new features and navigation
available on main support web pages
Along with a wider, easier to read format,
IBM has added Dynamic Navigation, Simple Text
Search, Additional Support Links and a new
Support Task Navigator to provide clients
with direct access to their primary support
tasks and tools.
