New whitepaper in the Quality Management Thought Leadership Series
Build your bottom line: Drive innovation with a collaborative requirements-driven quality solution.
Software is becoming the invisible thread that enables innovative services and products - and innovation is contingent upon the ability to manage effective software delivery. Yet, software design, creation and management have become prohibitively complex and keeping up with the changes is an ongoing struggle. Organizations that can clearly articulate and reach consensus on stakeholder business objectives and requirements have a much greater potential to optimize their end results. This paper examines collaboration as a force multiplier that can help organizations not only better manage change but also help drive ongoing innovation to build the bottom line.

Architecture Review Beta for Rational Software Architect
This beta targets experienced IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) 7.x users who want to share their architectural models with extended teams. These extended teams want easy access to these models and don't want to install IBM Rational Software Architect on their desktop. This beta product will make it easier to share and collaborate with these extended teams. The IBM Rational architecture review beta will allow you to:
  • Export your architecture models stored in source control managed repository to a Jazz repository. You can automate this process, where possible.
  • Use a web browser to view all the diagrams and detailed properties of every entity of architecture stored in the Jazz repository.
  • Search for entities of your architecture models in the repository using simple text search.
  • Query for references between architectural entities in the repository in two ways, through tabs or through a visual way.
  • Review and collaborate on your architecture models by drawing on your diagrams. You can also comment on individual entities.
  • Architecture authors can use IBM Rational Software Architect to read and respond to the comments created by extended teams.
  • Create dashboards with viewlets like active resources, recent comments, and constraint violations.
To request for participation in this Managed Beta Program, please complete and submit your nomination form here.

Overcoming contradictions to deliver greater value from software and systems investments
The demands placed on leaders responsible for software and systems delivery are not only aggressive but also contradictory. They must cut costs while investing in technology to be more collaborative and innovative. They must bring projects to market faster while continually improving quality and effectiveness. By improving project, product, portfolio and performance management (PPM), an organization can balance its needs to reduce costs, increase collaboration, work more effectively, and improve business results in new ways

Containing the cost of IT: An approach to strategic IT planning and streamlined operations
The need to reduce software project costs and mitigate risk without impeding progress is arguably greater today than it has been at any point in the history of software and systems delivery. To achieve business value and reign in costs, software and systems delivery must be managed as an integrated set of agile and repeatable activities through strategic planning, streamlined operations, and innovation.
